Warren Buffett once told investors that "the single most important decision in evaluating a business is pricing power." If you can raise prices without losing customers, you have a good business. If it takes a prayer session to raise prices by 10%, you have a terrible one. Most founders nod along, then copy whatever number their nearest competitor charges. That gap, between knowing pricing matters and actually engineering it, is where the money gets left on the table.
