Start your engines–Brad Pitt is back in the driver’s seat, and the internet is already buzzing. The brand-new trailer for F1, Pitt’s adrenaline-fueled racing drama, has just launched, promising a summer box office thrill ride that fans and critics are calling “amazing, if not legendary”.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), F1 stars Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a once-promising Formula 1 driver whose career was derailed by a devastating accident in the 1990s. Thirty years later, Hayes is lured back to the track by his old teammate-turned-team owner Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), who’s desperate to save his struggling APXGP team. Hayes must mentor hotshot rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), but as the trailer teases, the real drama is both on and off the track: “You’re making a mistake, thinking that I’m just gonna be some grateful kid who’ll bend a knee to an old-timer,” Pearce warns.

The trailer delivers everything fans could hope for-roaring engines, spectacular crashes, and a star-studded cast including Kerry Condon, Simone Ashley, Tobias Menzies, and more. Shot during real Grand Prix weekends, the film promises authentic racing action and jaw-dropping visuals, with a soundtrack featuring Ed Sheeran, ROSÉ, Burna Boy, and Tate McRae.

Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, F1 is set to hit theaters and IMAX on June 27, 2025 (June 25 internationally). As anticipation builds, fans are already calling it “the story from the tracks we’ve been waiting for”.

For racing fans and movie lovers alike, F1 looks poised to take the checkered flag as this summer’s must-see blockbuster.
