Cannes Buzz: "Die, My Love" Stuns Festival Audience

Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson's latest collaboration in Lynne Ramsay's psychological drama "Die, My Love" has taken Cannes by storm, receiving a remarkable 6-minute standing ovation at its premiere.
The film, which marks Ramsay's third straight Cannes Competition entry, delivers a raw and unnerving portrayal of a woman's psychological unraveling. Lawrence stars as Grace, a city author who relocates to rural America with her husband Jackson (Pattinson) and their newborn child, only to spiral into what appears to be postpartum depression.
Critics are already praising Lawrence's performance as possibly "her best yet at just 34," with Pattinson taking a supportive role that "allows her to shine". The film's haunting exploration of mental health, marriage, and motherhood is being described as "brutal but beautiful".
Ramsay, known for her ability to build tension in films like "We Need to Talk About Kevin," has crafted what reviewers call "something genuinely original" with this adaptation of Ariana Harwicz's novel. The director even contributes personally to the soundtrack, singing Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" in the closing moments.
With its stellar cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Sissy Spacek, and Nick Nolte, "Die, My Love" promises to be a compelling arthouse hit that continues Ramsay's tradition of unflinching psychological narratives.
