Pennywise Returns: First Look at HBO Max's "Welcome to Derry" Sends Chills Down Our Spines

The infamous killer clown is back to terrorize a new generation! HBO Max just dropped the first trailer for "IT: Welcome to Derry," the highly anticipated prequel to the blockbuster "IT" films, and it's everything horror fans have been waiting for.
Set in 1962, the series follows an African American family moving to the eerie town of Derry, Maine, where they face both hostile locals and something far more sinister lurking beneath the surface. As children begin to disappear, a group of young friends uncovers the town's dark secrets.
Bill Skarsgård reprises his role as the terrifying Pennywise, making a spine-tingling appearance at the end of the trailer with his signature maniacal laugh. When asked about the show's horror level, Skarsgård didn't hold back: "It's pretty hardcore, man".
Developed by Andy and Barbara Muschietti (the creative forces behind the "IT" films) along with Jason Fuchs, the nine-episode series explores the catastrophic events that mark Pennywise's 27-year feeding cycle. The story draws inspiration from Mike Hanlon's interludes in Stephen King's original novel, particularly focusing on the Black Spot incident.
With an impressive cast including Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, and Madeleine Stowe, "Welcome to Derry" floats onto HBO Max this fall.
