Hey podcast enthusiasts, Big news in the audio world today –YouTube has officially launched its Weekly Top Podcast Shows chart, and to nobody's surprise, Joe Rogan sits comfortably at the throne.

Announced on May 15, 2025, this new US-based chart ranks the top 100 podcasts based on watchtime, updating every Wednesday"The Joe Rogan Experience" claimed the coveted #1 spot for the week of May 5-11, followed by "Kill Tony," "Rotten Mango," and "48 Hours".

This move solidifies YouTube's dominance in the podcasting space, where they already boast over 1 billion monthly active podcast viewers. According to Edison Research, YouTube has surpassed both Spotify and Apple to become America's most frequently used podcast service.

"We're building out more features and expanding podcast charts to additional regions," says Steve McLendon, Product Manager for YouTube Podcasts.

What makes this chart particularly interesting is how it differs from Spotify and Apple's rankings. Many established podcasts like "Call Her Daddy" and "SmartLess" don't appear in YouTube's top 100.

Brandon Feldman, YouTube's director of podcast partnerships, suggests the chart helps audiences understand "who is shaping public discourse" and serves as inspiration for creators looking to grow their reach.
